I spend a great deal of my social media life on the subject of books, art, and YouTube parodies. This is a disproportionate viewpoint (akin to the unreliable narrators in some popular fiction). The majority of my time is spent thinking about plants and critters. My day jobs have taken me up in helicopters for desert Big Horn Sheep surveys to the stormy Pacific to handle live sharks. I've also spent a great deal of time in labs sifting through coyote poop.
The world of ecology is under threat more than ever before. Though hidden from the front pages by well-worthy issues (millions losing health care, threats from other countries, etc), the Trump administration is hard at work to dismantle the protection of natural resources. It's happening now, and it affects you. Whether you like clean water, visiting national parks, or simply take heart in the knowledge that Mexican Gray Wolves exist, your personal bubble could pop. No one is exempt. It's a somber message and one I'm almost sick of sharing, but this is my homepage and my obligation: call your representatives. Stay educated. Vote nationally. Vote locally. You have a voice. Use it.
For more personal adventures in ecology, I'll be filling the blog section soon. Stay tuned. Until then, make phone calls.
