Parodies, Films, and Vlogs

I'm an amatuer who fell backwards into an IMDB page.

Trust me. The IMDB page is nothing to write home about (although I'm proud of ALL TWO of my credits). Since I was a kid, I've had a strong interest in film, with humble beginnings involving Beanie Babies and popsicle-stick sketch shows (think Saturday Night Live with fewer celebrities). Today, I make mostly film parodies on extremely mediocre equipment. Obviously, I'm not in it for the views. Nevertheless, I love parodies, especially musical ones, and even though I have a cheap camera and the singing voice of a mallard, I love belting out my latest ideas.

Edgar Allan Poe's Murder Mystery Dinner Party (production assistant)

It had long been my dream to work behind the scenes on a film-set. Thanks to a last-minute call on twitter for production assistants, my dream was realized. Lead by brother-and-sister creatives Sean and Sinead Persaud, Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner party unites famous 18th and 19th century authors for a shindig that swiftly turns dangerous. Full of snappy literary humor, it features cast and crew recognizable from StarKid (Lauren Lopez, Corey Lubowich, and Joey Richter), the Lizzie Bennet Diaries (Ashley Clements, Mary Kate Wiles, and Jessica Jade Andres), The Big Bang Theory (Laura Spencer), Parks and Recreation (Jim O’Heir), Glee (Curt Mega), and other familiar media. My sister and I had a marvelous time, and I hope to be so lucky to work for them again should they make a sequel.

Growthbusters (extra)

As a sustainability advocate, I couldn’t have stumbled upon a more fitting opportunity for my “film debut”. I’m just an extra in the first few minutes, but this was my introduction to behind-the scenes film-making, and boy was I excited! Growthbusters is a bit hard to come by on popular streaming services, but I highly recommend finding clips on Youtube. Dave Garner is a passionate activist as well as a director, and this shines through in all of his projects.
